Book Review: Destroy Me

Book Review: Destroy Me

Destroy Me by Tahereh  Mafi

Book Summary:  In Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me, Juliette escaped from The Reestablishment by seducing Warner—and then putting a bullet in his shoulder. But as she’ll learn in Destroy Me, Warner is not that easy to get rid of. . .

Back at the base and recovering from his near-fatal wound, Warner must do everything in his power to keep his soldiers in check and suppress any mention of a rebellion in the sector. Still as obsessed with Juliette as ever, his first priority is to find her, bring her back, and dispose of Adam and Kenji, the two traitors who helped her escape. But when Warner’s father, The Supreme Commander of The Reestablishment, arrives to correct his son’s mistakes, it’s clear that he has much different plans for Juliette. Plans Warner simply cannot allow.

Set after Shatter Me and before its forthcoming sequel, Unravel Me,Destroy Me is a novella told from the perspective of Warner, the ruthless leader of Sector 45.

Syi's Summary:  This short story is from Warner's point of view. It's about after Juliette, Adam, and Kenji escaped from him and when he got shot. When Warner is still trying to get Juliette back and get rid of Adam and Kenji but then his father came and told him not to capture her. And use her for a different plan.

Book rate: 10!

After reading the first book Shatter Me I fell in love with this book. I love how Tahereh writes. The story is really interesting. But then I hate how Juliette is so stubborn and don't answer people and don't even pay attention to the important things. But then she begin the fall in love with Adam when he safe her.

Warner is the guy that I hate the most. He is so annoying and is irritating  I'm so glad that Adam help Juliette escape from his hands. I wish Adam shot him well that he is dead but he like immortal and don't die from a gun shot.

Warner is so obese on capturing Juliette and killing Adam and Kenji for helping her escape. I really hate him for that. Can't you just let her be happy in the outside world since she was lock up in prison for 264 days.

The first time that I met him when he came to get Juliette out and told her to join him to torture people. I imagined him as an old man not a nineteen year old. Well I kinda imagined him as a 20 something year old. I think he is too young to work there.

But anyways, I think all readers should try out Shatter Me. And if you like the book then go on and try Destroy Me and Unravel Me. Because all the books Tahereh writes is fabulous.

Book Rate: 10!

This book is awesome. I wish I could rate it more but then it won't be fair to the other books that I also like. But anyways this book is fabulous. I really like it. Just love it. When I first saw the first book being new in my school library and I was like okay found a book to read. After a few days when I finish it I was like HEY THIS BOOK IS FABULOUS. CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE SECOND BOOK.

There is also a short story called Undone and it is from Ben's point of view. So I hope you get to read that too. Because it's just fabulous. It's about Ben's live before Unraveling. It's really cool to find out what happen before the whole thing begins because you get to know the idea of what's happening.

So like if you are a reader that love reading new books or like trying out new books. I recommend you to read Unraveling. And if you already read Unraveling then you should read Undone and Unbreakable. It's just fabulous to read.

Book Review: Shatter Me

Book Review: Shatter Me

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

Book Summary:  Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

Syi's Summary:  Juliette was lock in prison for 264 days. Her parents gave her away because of her powers that could kill someone by touching them. 264 days have past and today the soldiers brought in a new prisoner, Adam. At first she doesn't know him but then she starting to remember her past and wonder if that is the Adam that was in her school a few years ago. But then a few days later that Adam that was in the same cell as her was a soldier and was keeping a eye on her. Soon she met Warner the boss of the whole Reestablishment want her to be his tool for the war. For torturing people when they captured them. But Adam on the other hand is beginning to remember that Juliette was the girl he once like and start to help her. She was assigned to Adam and share a room with him since Warner wants her to be watch all the time. Later Adam want her to escape and come with him to a place that is safe from the soldiers and save from Warner. Juliette at first doesn't believe him until she is noticing Adam is gone and thought he was being tortured but he wasn't. The two of them escape but got caught and on a run again the second time and lost them. They went to Adam's house where he had a little brother. After a while someone came and all of them thought they found them already but it was Kenji's, Adam's friend from the field. He help them get to a place that is super safe and ended up underground. The people help cured them and offered them help but want to them to fight for them against the Reestablishment.

Book Rate: 10!

I love this book. This book is fabulous. It's fantastic.

I really enjoy reading it. This book took only a day to finish because I can't put it down and take a rest. It's that good.

Juliette is a really stubborn girl and won't listen to anybody or answer to anybody if she doesn't know. Though I don't blame her for that since those people are up to no good.

Adam is a nice kind boy and help Juliette escape from there and took care of her. Well since her love her so much when he was little but was scared to go up to her and talk. But it was really nice of him to look out for her and almost rik his life trying to get her out of the prison.

But then I ship Adam and Juliette even though Warner will give her everything. Though her probably lie about that because he wants her as his tool. So Adam is the shipment to Juliette.

I have a few quotes:

"Because I'm in love with you."

"And he's kissing me. . . "

"His hands at my waist, gripping my hips, his legs flush against my own. . . "

"The taste of his words lingers on my lips."

". . . he's kissing me harder, with a  fervent urgent need I've never known. . . "

"You're my bird. . . "

"You're my bird and you're going to help me. . . "

"I've loved you forever."

"His fingers skim my shoulder, trail down my sihouette, rest my hips. . . "

"I gasp and he's kissing m, deep and powerful and unrestrained."

That's all the quotes I got.

So first of all, I would like to thank Eliza Green for sending me this book.

I really enjoyed it but at first it was so boring and I don't even know what they are talking about. But then in the middle I kind of understand it. But still I don't think this book was that fabulous. Though I read it and enjoyed it.

So like, I think this book will be really interesting if there are more actions and adventure. If readers are really interested in this book then I should probably think you should read it. This book is kind of a adult book then a YA book.

But every reader have their own taste.

If you really like the summary of this book. I think you should try it out. And see if you like it or enjoy the book.

This book was really good. If you ever read Legend you would love to read their novella. And of course their second book ,Prodigy, that came out couples of months already.

I really love Day and hate June in the first book but kind of like her in the second book. But Day is awesome. I fell sorry for him but I like how he is trying to fight his freedom. I am a really big fan of Marie Lu and some other authors because their books are just awesome. It's fabulous.

Day was just a fresh boy running away from the Republican and trying to survive on his own. On the other side June is having a hard time in her first day of school in Drake University. But I think June deserve to get pick on because she was being pest to Day. June really annoys me. She is really annoying and acts like she is really strong and powerful.

But anyways you guys who have not read Legend should read at least the first book. It is really fabulous ad I think you guys would enjoy it as much as I did.

Book Review: Oppression

Book review: Oppression

Oppression by Jessica Therrien

Book Summary:  Elyse knows what it means to keep a secret. She's been keeping secrets her whole life. Two, actually. First, that she ages five times slower than the average person, so that while she looks eighteen years old, she's closer to eighty. Second, that her blood has a mysterious power to heal. For Elyse, these things don't make her special. They make life dangerous. After the death of her parents, she's been careful to keep her secret as closely guarded as possible. Now, only one other person in the world knows about her age and ability. Or so she thinks. Elyse is not the only one keeping secrets. There are others like her all over the world, descendants of the very people the Greeks considered gods. She is one of them, and they have been waiting for her for a long time. Among so many of her kind, she should not be very remarkable--except for the prophecy. Some believe she will put an end to traditions, safeguarded by violence, which have oppressed her people for centuries. Others are determined to keep her from doing just that. But for Elyse, the game is just beginning--and she's not entirely willing to play by their rules.
Syi Summary: Ellie's parents died from a car accident and was found by two people and brought her to the closet house. And recently found out that she is not a human but from a descendant  of Greek Gods. She is from the Greek God that could heal and she inherent from her mother. And the Council will kill her anyway when the war is over or when business is over.

Book Rate: 10<3

This book is amazing and want to thank Jessica for sending me this awesome book for me to review. I really enjoy reading this book. I really like it and the characters and the descendants are really interesting. I really enjoy reading about Greek Gods, they are really interesting to read.

Ellie at first was really stubborn and doesn't want to listen to anyone because she doesn't know them. Then she was drag into a whole total different world that she didn't even know about until she met William who was the first one to discover her.

Everyone of the descendants was waiting for Ellie because she was the last healer and is the only one that could save their lives against the Council. I find this book really interesting because of all those details. And besides I like reading these kinds of book. There are fascinating. Though most of the readers love to read Romances book which is not really my type. Though if I like it in some books that is really interesting like this one. This book romance is really okay, but I'm not really the type to read Romance books but I love reading Fantasy and Dystopian books. But some romances scenes in the books is already fabulous for me.

Though this book is totally awesome. I really recommend all readers to read this book. I really hope you do. It's really great and you guys will enjoy it. I enjoy reading it. And really want to read the second book pretty badly. I want to know what is going to happen to Ellie and her friend and her descendants friends.

Okay so I ask Jessica for an Interview and haven't send the questions to her yet but you could look forward to the Author interview.

Book Review: SlipStream

Book Review: Slipstream

Slipstream by Michael Offutt

Book Summary: "Last night I died for the third time this week. . . "
Jordan Pendragon is crazy good at fixing situations that have gone bad. It's a talent prized by his high school ice hockey team. However, when a car accident puts Jordan in the hospital, he wakes up with more than just an amazing slapshot in his toolbox. Jordan can manipulate space-time and in just a few weeks, he'll depend on it to save his life.
Book Summary: Jordan and his sister, Kathy are orphans because both their parents died of a car crash. They are both teenager. Jordan can use space-time powers that brought both of them to Kolin and his friends in another world. A world with vampires and monsters and some humans. In that world Jordan and Kathy experienced many things and went on dangerous missions with Kolin. Chewy, Met and their friends.

Okay, first of all I want to thank the author, Michael Offutt for sending me a copy of this fabulous book. I really enjoy is because it's fantasy-ish, Adventure-ish books. I really love those kinds of books. And this character Jordan Pendragon reminds me of Bobby Pendragon from the Pendragon series. Both series are really great so they are both highly recommended for all readers.

Jordan Pendragon is a teenager in the human world. He is on the ice hockey team in his high school. Jordan have an older sister, Kathy. His parents died from a car crash. He could use space-time powers, which is really cool. I really want to try that.

Kathy Pendragon is also a teenager and is still in high school or college. She has a little brother, Jordan. She takes care of him since their parents died. She follow him to Kolin's world so she could kept a eye on him.

This book characters have really funny and weird names. But the story was really fabulous.

Okay it is time for the quotes:

"A cool breeze that held just a kiss of winter blew down off the mountain."

":He moved his eyes to the window and thought he saw something in the backyard."

"Hope you got a condom. . . . You're so getting laid tonight."

" . . . don't push the green button."

"You're going to murder someone?"

"I'd rather hurt myself than see you go back being a hired killer."

"Also, his last name is Pendragon. The name of a king."

"Lend me a hand please and boost me up so I can reach inside his mouth."

"You're at a disadvantage because you;re so small. . . "

"Torn to pieces by something that lives in the tunnels below the city."

"Because Kolin has no common sense. . . he's smart but dumb. . . "

". . . six-foot four with wide linebreakers shoulders, wearing a form-fitting black t-shirt and matching canvas pats stepped in front of her."

"Jordan looked at his reflections in the mirrow, and his face seemed drawn and pale. . . "

"Meat is just animal muscle."

"You, Jordan Pendragon, and your sister, Kathy Pendragon, are the last Archangels of God."

"You and your sister are the Technician and the Mechanic of the Creator."

That's all for this review.

Happy reading.
