Book Review: The Hunt

Book Review: The Hunt

The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda

Book Summary: DON'T SWEAT. DON'T LAUGH. DON'T DRAW ATTENTION TO YOURSELF.
And most of all, whatever you do, do not fall in love with one of them.
Gene is different from everyone else around him. He can't run with lightning speed, sunlight doesn't hurt him, and he doesn't have an unquenchable lust for blood. Gene is a human, and he knows the rules. Keep the truth a secret. It's the only way to stay alive in a world of night-a world where humans are considered a delicacy and hunted for their blood.
When he's chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hunt the last remaining humans, Gene's carefully constructed life begins to crumble around him. He's thrust into the path of a girl who makes him feel things he never thought possible-and into the ruthless pack of hunters whose suspicions about his true nature are growing. Now that Gene has finally found something worth fighting for, his need to survive is stronger than ever-but is it worth the cost of his humanity?
Syi's Summary: Gene is a human, probably the only human left in his world. Others around him are vampire, who can run in a lightning speed, lust for blood, and sunlight or any light would hurt them. Gene is very different, he doesn't do any of those things, his academic is excellent and always ace his exams. But he have many rules about him surviving in a world of vampires. Rules that he can't escape from. Though he broke some once when he was very young. But soon, some of the people soon suspect him, wondering if his human or vampire. Gene now have to now what to fight for if he wants to survive blending in with vampires.
Book rate: 10!

This book reminds me of the Hunger Games, though this book have vampires in it. So sort of like the Hunger Games. This book was interesting enough. Read some in the afternoon, finish in bed. I almost crush some of the pages while dozing to sleep, but remember that I have a book in bed so The Hunt is still alive.Glad is not all wrinkly, still looks pretty new.

Everyday Gene spend his morning time shaving hair from his body, polishing his fake fangs, filing his nails, and many more before he goes to school. It's pretty hard for him since he is a human and the people outside are vampires. Need to hide his true nature and survive without being notice.

Though even if he tries to runaway or forget about himself as human is very hard, since at school he still get pick on a lot from teachers, since he ace every exam and very intelligent, which one of his father's rules, never ace any exams. Well looks like Gene just broke is.

So for the Hunt there are many covers for it.
Here are some of it:

This one is what I have. Though I really like the first one, but oh well, it's still looks good. The second one is okay too, but Barnes and Nobles didn't have it, so I went with this one.

Here is the second book os this fabulous story.
The Prey comes out on January 29, 2013.  The same day as Prodigy. Legend's second bok by Marie Lu. Both my favorite series.

Hope you like it. Happy Reading.

Book Review: 1NF1N1TY

Book Review: 1NF1N1TY

1NF1N1TY by Rachel Ward

Book Summary: Mia's trusting eyes fix on mine and her number fills my head. I don't see numbers, but I know hers. Adam told me. 02202054. It's better than what she started with, but it's not enough. I feel sick at the thought. Mia can't die so soon;she's too young. She needs to find another number, a better number. But how?
Syi: Summary: Mia is a two year old girl who's mother is Sarah and Adam. Adam can see numbers and the numbers that he sees is the death numbers. Which is the death date when people dies. e found out about Mia's number and hope she find another one that is better since hers is 02202054, that means that she will die at the age of 27, too young. Later on in the story they bump into Saul, one of their enemy that they should avoid though he took Mia away and they have no choose but to follow him. Saul only took Mia away because he wants Adam's powers and trick him to giving him and as a trade he will keep away from his family. But that was a lie, Saul can still numbers in the last minute of his death date and tried to take Adam's or Sarah's or Mia's depending on which one is better. During that imprison Sarah found out that Mia have the same power as Adam's Nan, who can see people's aura. But in the end Saul die and fails to get the numbers he wants and Adam and his family live happily with each other.

Book Rate:  9.7 :)

I really like this book but too bad I didn't read the second book The Chaos so I don't know what happen in the beginning of the story. The first book was great, skip the second book, and the third book as fantastic. I should really read the second book to catch up with the story.

But anyways, it's really sad of how you have some kind of power and people is after it and then after a second or later you get separate from your family and the love ones. It's really sad and depressing. Though Adam's powers can see people's death date which when they die. Mia's powers can see people's aura.

I really like Mia and her powers but she's still a little baby but can draw well. Different from any child, which normal baby draw with their fists but Mia draw like people who learn how to write already. I find that pretty interesting and cool, a nice gift from her mother.

So here are the prequels to Infinity:
Num8ers, the first book with different types of covers.
The Chaos, second book.

That's it with the review!

Book Review: Summer and Bird

Book Review: Summer and Bird

Summer and Bird by Katherine Catmull

Book Summary: When their parents disappear in the middle of the night, a cryptic picture message from theirmother leads young sisters Summre and Bird through a familiar gate into the woods where the sad electric song of a tiny patchwork bird draws them Down. In this ruined, frozen world of birds, their divided hearts will lead them in very different directions in a quest toward united goals: Vanquish the ravenous, bird-swaalowing Puppeteer and reveal the true heir to the swan queen's throne.
Syi's Summary: Summer and Bird's parents disappear at midnight, left the two young sister alone. Though they found a message from their mother and determine to find her and their father. Going through the gate and into the woods going Down, it led the two sister in different directions. Summer, the older sister was left alone in the woods while Bird the younger sister went another way according to her birdsong. Later, they regroup when they found their mother as the queen swan and that she chooses Summer as the next queen. But Bird argue that Summer is not a bird and that I am a bird that I should be the queen. That Summer and her father left her mother and Bird in the Bird castle and left back to their house.

Book Rate: 9.5

This book is very sad about how both of their parents left them alone to find them.

I find the names of the character really cool. Like Summer and Bird. Birds like to fly around during Summer and Summer enjoys Bird flying. tought the character Summer doesn't likeit when Bird sings but summer is a human and Bird is bird.

Their father was a human and their mother is a bird though they do not know that until the end when they found both their father and mother. This boook is the most interesting story I ever read. But it's only an ARC. I found a lot of mistakes in this book well that because their not published yet.

That's all I have for this review. Getting lazy to type some more.

Anyways Happy Reading to All!

Starting over in a new town with only each other is unimaginable for Rory and Darcy. They were inseparable as children, but they haven't gotten along for years. As the sisters settle in to Juniper Landing, a picturesque vacation island, it seems like their new home may be just the fresh start they need. They fall in with a group of beautiful, carefree teens and spend their days surfing, partying on the beach, and hiking into endless sunsets. Rory went running for Darcy and Steven Nell was attacked and they were fine. But Rory find that it was like a nightmare and the world that she has been is destroy.

Book Rate: 9.6

I found this book pretty good, but I don't get the end. It was really confusing. Though overall the book is fabulous. Is like a mystery, finding themissing person and solving a crime.

I really like the character in the book like Tristan and Krista. They are the Major's children and they are nice. So is the other character. They were nice to Rory and her sister, Darcy.

At first when Rory and her family arrivied, Rory was having flashes about Steven Nell. And they thought it was still not save here, because Rory kept on seeing things and hearing things that is about Steven Nell. And yeah I would get that. Moving into a new place when you were chase by a serial killer in your old life, It's pretty scary. I would hear things and see things that weren't suppose to be seen.

At first when I saw thw cover of the book, I thought the girl was talking on the phone so I thought it wsa going to be boring but then I read the summary and turn out pretty interesting. So that's why never judge a book by its cover unless you read the suumary of the book or the first page. Then if you don't like it you could judge it.

Book Review: A Monster Calls

Book Review: A Monster Calls

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

Book Summary: THE MONSTER SHOWED UP AFTER MIDNIGHT.
As they do. But it isn't the monster Conor's been expecting the one from his nightmare, the nightmare he's had nearly every night since his mother started her treatments, the one with the darkness and the wind and the screaming. . . .
This monster, though,is something different. Something ancient, something wild. And it wants the most dangerous thing of all from Conor.
   It wants the truth.
Syi's Summary: Conor have been having a nightmare with a monster that look like a giant tree coming to his house talking to him. It all started when his mother started using the new treatments. One day his mother needs to go to the hospitol and stays there, andConor's grampma is going to take care of him, his dad on his way to stay and keep him company until his mom gets better. Though Conor believes that she would get better because of the new treatments that she is taking. Thought the monster tells him a tale about what is going to happen to Conor and that he have to let go of his mother and tell the truth or he will be trap inside of the nightmare forever.

Book Rate: 10!

This book is great. I really really like it. So My friend gaveme a ebook copy of The Knife of Not Letting Go by Patrick Ness, so I read it and didn't much like it though I gave it 4 stars on Goodreads. So after reading A Monster Calls, I'm going to give another try for The Knife of Not Letting go.

A Monster Calls is very sad. I almost cry when the part his was holding on to his mother when she was calling his name and was about to fall down. Though in the end he did let go of his mother when she was about to die in the hospitol. It's a very sad book to read ;(. But very interesting of how he lets the bullies beat him and even lie to the teachers about it. I feel sorry for him and his mother. And his parents divorce because of his mother's mom being all that. Such a sad book. Though it was kind of scary about the monster keep on talkin to him at midnight. It looks kind of ugly.

The book is like a picture book because it have a full page of pictures and on the background there is alwasy a picture even if there is writing on it. But I'm find with that as long is a good book and it is a FABULOUS BOOK.

Ok that's all for this fabulous book.

            ()()
Book Rate: 9.7     (>.<)

I really think this boolk deserves a 9.6 but want to be better so 9.7. I realy think of Nicole as a stubborn girl. Thoguh feel bad for her getting like that when she all popular at school and everywhere.

So for this book I don't have anything that I want to say so this is it.

Enjoy your reading.

                            ()()
Book Summary: 10! (>~<)

This book was a ARC and it was realy good. I actually like this one and there is some Romance if anybody is interested into Romance. But it is not the Romance that you would expect. Though even if there's no romance this book is still good. I really recommend this book to everybody. If you want to read this book it comes out at March 12,2013. It seems like all the good books comes out in 2013, which is almost here. Or I should say the end of the world is almost here!!! Is anybody scare?

Anyways let's move on to the book details.

I really think that Fred and Kyra should be together. They really make a good couple, though Kyra was upset when she found out that she lost her pig and was founded by one of the villagers an was bought by Fred. She really thought that he likes that pig and follow her around. At the beginning Fred found her crossing the water with a pig on her head and most of her clothes off and saw her drowning or something and save her and forgot to save her bag.

There was some funny scenes. Kyra is sometimes very stubborn, like when Fred invites her to eat lunch with him and his dog she said no and left though Fred gave her a farwell gift of a dog bisscuits.

This book is a recommended book that you must read. I really love it and you should like it as well unless you have anothertaste of the book.

So Have a happy reading of the book you are reading now!

Mark Rider was called to train the students for the war. But Spirit doesn't trust his methods. Though they still have to train and fight in the war.

Book Rate: 9.6

This book was really good. Though I didn't read the first book but anyways I still got it. Well I have the third book si lucky me but the third book doesn't come out yet. It comes out in April 2013. Next year. There is a lot of my favorite books that comes out in 2013 and 2014. I just don't know why do we have to wait so long and talk about movies. They are even longer.

So anyways, Oakhurst is an academy for students that have magic and a orphanage for children's parents who died. Even if that school or academy don't let you have friends Spirit secretly made some friends and kept a secret from the teachers and others. That school isn't really fair. Since students's parents die and now they are lonedly and this school doesn't let them have friends.

Anyways look forward to book three.

Book Review: Monument 14

Book Review: Monument 14

Monument 14 by Emmy Laybourne

Book Summary:  FOURTEEN KIDS. ONE SUPERSTORE. A MILLION THINGS THAT GO WRONG.
Your mother hollers that you’re going to miss the bus. She can see it coming down the street. You don’t stop and hug her and tell her you love her. You don’t thank her for being a good, kind, patient mother. Of course not—you launch yourself down the stairs and make a run for the corner.

Only, if it’s the last time you’ll ever see your mother, you sort of start to wish you’d stopped and did those things. Maybe even missed the bus.

But the bus was barreling down our street, so I ran.Syi's Summary: There was a terrible storm that kill many people. Though there are a few that survived. They all survived and took care of each other by treating others with kindness. They all got locked inside the superstore which there is alot of food and water and other supplies which others outide didn't have. They switch cooks and others jobs each day to make it fair until someone comes to get them out of there.

Book rate:9.8

This book is really really good. I really like it. Though it was really sad that hey are apart from their familes and other relatives. But they all survived and took care of each other with kindness like a big family. This booki reminds me of a TV show that I watch. It was really sad. And this book is really similar to that TV show.

Anyways that is the last.

This book was okay though I got the advance copy of it. So there is so mistakes in it. But it was good. I enjoy reading it and want to read the second book to find out what happen to them. I think that Aria and that boy should go together and they really make a cute couple.

Anyways I didn't feel like doing quotes for this book because I am really tired.

So that is it for this book.

This book is FAB. I like the second book better in the Infernal Devices. But can't wai for the third book that is coming out in 2013. YAY but the Mortal Instruments's Six book is coming out 2014. UGH! So long. Can't wait that long. Whenit comes to books. I can't be patcient. Or I think I spell that wrong but oh well.

Here are some of the fantastic quotes:

"James Carstairs smiled back at her, elegant in his dark suit, his silver-fair- hair whipped bu the wind. His other hand rested on a jade-topped cane . . . . . . . "
Jem is so awesome and Fabulous.

"Of course Henr was there, but he seemed to be taking a gentle nap on a pile of books. . . . . "
Hahahaha! I bet my friend would get bad at him if he's sleeping on her books.

" . . . let me feast upon your liver. I will tear it from your body while you scream."
EWWWWWWW! But Oh Well. They're monsters anyways.

"You are a shadowhunter...you are not afraid of death. Of course I am . . . . Everybody is afraid of death."

Wow! Jem don't lie to a girl that you love.

"Jem, stop! Your violin-your lovely violin-you'll riun it."
No Jem! Don't destroy the things you love.

"Ni hen piao liang."
"What does that mean?, she wispered."
"It means that you are beautiful."
OMG! Jem you should have told her before and not now.

"I am not your Tessa either."
Isn't that a little bit harsh to say to Will.

"And may I say that you dazzle the eyes."
What kind of brother does Tessa have anyways."

"God, I'm jealous of every other man who looks at you."
Yup he's a weirdo.

"I am brave."
Well of course, Will.

"Charlotte, please, not the Silent City! Lock me up in the crypt, give me to the Council, but please do not send me alone to that- that graveyard! I shall die of fear!"
That won't happen if you didn't go out and betray to Clave like that.

"Torture him."
You should hebetray you.

"An entire carriage ride alone with Jem."
Lucky You. I want to ride in an entire carriage with Jem.

"Wo ai ni, Tessa,'he whispered.'Wo bu xiang shi qu ni."

Book Rate: 10

This book is also one that is by Cassandra Clare. Though I have read the Mortal Instruments and I think that I like the Mortal Instruments better. But I also have rewad the second book of this one and like it. So the first book of The Infernal Devices was boring. Well I shouldn' have said broing though it's doesn't have enough of the action like the second book Clockwork Prince.(Jem)

I think Jem and Tessa goes a long better like a love couple. Though Will is the one who always save her from trouble and Jem plays the violin which is so beautiful. Jem is so awesome, half- British and half- Chinese,(Awesome and fab). There is some word that i in Chinese which i know so I'm so happy. And thouse times is very funny whenever he speaks it.

Ok here are some of the fab quotes:

"James Carstairs! Jem! Where are you, you disloyal bastard?"
How mean Will!

"Do you often sleep tied to the bed?"
Will what kind of question is that.

"Though anyone wh looked like that wouldn't need to tie girls up and imprison them inorder to get them to marry him."
Well yeah unless they are pervents.

"He;s always having one of his days."
What kind of days does Jem have anyways.

"He eats everything....since he was twelve, he has. I suppose it's all the training that keeps him from gettingfat."
Fat Will!

"That's all right. he lowered the violin from his shoulder. You're Miss Gray, aren't you? The shape-changer girl. Will told me a it about you."
Jem have appeared. YAY!

"My mother was Chinese; my father was British."
OMG! That's so FAB!

"...snapping at Henry; it was like kicking a puppy"
Hahahahahaha! Funny.

"...I'm wearing blue. Blue goes with everything."
Yeah I know. Blue is also my favorite color.

"Magnus Bane is my lover."
Oh Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww. He;s gay in know.

"It was Nathaniel."
Oh Uh!

"He had a lovely smile."
Of course he does. He's gorgeous!

"...the name she have given me when I was born:Jian."
Such a beautiful name.

Well ok I'm donw with this book now. Less quotes on this one but wait til the second book Clockwork Prince.

Happy reading~

Expert:
Kara pushed herself to her feet. “We should probably make our way back to the mansion, Braeden.
        “Nope,” he said.
           “What do you mean, ‘no’?”
“You wanted to learn to fight. We haven’t trained today. We need to spar.”
She groaned. They’d been sparring. She’d healed dozens of bruises and even a broken finger, all evidence to the fact she was barely able to react in time to a sword coming at her face, much less a magical technique. She just wasn’t a very good fighter.
           “But—”
He laughed. “You’ll never get better if you don’t practice. Come on.”
             He drew his sword.
Her stomach twisted. “Right here? Seriously? On a ledge? Those are rapids!”
“Yes. Today, it’s all about controlling your opponent’s movement and fighting in difficult terrain. Since you aren’t strong in this environment, drive me back up the stairs and to the forest, where you have more room to move. Also, you should never be without a sword.”
           “But I don’t have one!”
            “That was my point.”
“Shouldn’t I practice one lesson at a time?”
In answer, he swung his sword at her arm. She pressed her back against the cave wall, ducking the blow seconds before the blade cut the air. Goose bumps crawled up her neck.
Braeden laughed. “The best way to learn is baptism by fire. Let’s go!”
Kara ducked another swing and looked around, but she had no tactical advantage. Braeden blocked her way to the stairs. She couldn’t run past him or—she glanced over the ledge at the tumbling river below. Nope, she was not jumping into that. Her only escape was a nearby hole in a ledge that ran above her like a catwalk. If she could—
Braeden shifted his weight onto the balls of his feet, apparently ready to lunge and end this whole bout before it began.
No time to think. Just go.
Kara sprinted away, toward the gap. Braeden followed, and Kara jumped for the ledge seconds before he lunged. She grabbed the walkway, the splinters of rock digging into her arms as her momentum lifted her legs out of Braeden’s passing reach.
His fingers brushed her ankle, sending a shiver up her leg. She resisted the impulse to smile at the tingling sensation his touch left behind. It made her think of his hand on her back, of their kiss—
                “Clever!” he said.
                Focus, Kara.
She pulled herself onto the ledge and wished she had a witty response, but she’d learned that lesson the hard way during an earlier match. She had distracted herself by talking, instead of distracting him like she’d hoped. Braeden had tripped her and knocked her clean onto her back. Dialogue was yet another weapon, one that required practice. Let the better fighters banter. Lesser fighters focus.
Kara got to her feet and raced along the upper pathway toward the waterfall, her satchel bouncing against her back while she ran as fast as she could. Braeden would be faster, but she had to try.
The ledge curved around a bend in the cave. Her feet pounded against the rock, sending shards of cave wall sprinkling to the ground below. The walkway likely hadn’t seen action like this in its lifetime. She hoped it wouldn’t crumble.
Braeden’s steps echoed from under her as the edge of the catwalk came into view. It would end about ten feet before the stairs, so she picked up her pace. She couldn’t slow down, or Braeden would catch her.
                  Five feet away, now.
                  Two feet—
                  Jump!
Kara kept her eyes where she wanted to go, just as Braeden had taught her the last time they’d sparred. She’d tried to jump from a tree and wound up in a bramble bush.
Instinct and a dozen failed attempts in prior matches told her to tuck her head, to curl onto her shoulder and let the momentum propel her forward.
Rocks dug into her neck and shoulder before pushing against her back, but nothing stung. She rolled back onto her feet and took off again, not daring to look back for Braeden. She would probably trip if she did.
She grinned, adrenaline numbing her fingertips as she ran. She had no earthly idea how she would do it again, but to hell with it. She’d finally rolled!
Kara followed the path as it curved and disappeared behind the waterfall. The water misted along her neck, blocking all light as she passed behind it. She let her feet find the stairs as she bolted up two at a time. Braeden’s light breaths came from somewhere in the darkness behind her.
Green sunlight illuminated the top of the stairs, the light blocked by a thick canopy of trees. Brown blurs came into view—bark. There would be a root right when she rounded the last stair, so she had to be careful not to—
Kara’s foot hooked on the root anyway.
She shot forward and skidded along the dirt path. Sticks left gouges in her arms. Her cheek stung. She wiped her hand over her face, but that just made the stinging worse. Blood stained her fingers when she pulled away.
A sword glinted in Kara’s peripheral vision. She sprung to her feet. Braeden stood a short way off, without a scratch on him. He grinned.
“Falling was an interesting choice,” he said.
“Cute.” Kara rolled her eyes and brushed dust off her clothes.
